Kobe Gone Fishin

Where is Kobe?

How can a supposed championship Team blow a 20+ point lead at the half? Maybe they were distracted by the home crowd or thought they had the game in the bag. But, where was Kobe? The king of the NBA says his Team pissed themselves in their beds. I disagree, I believe they took a tremendous crap in their beds. Kobe with 17 points, are you kidding, and he was whining about being covered so well, give me a break. Kobe, excuses are like  a@@holes, everyones got one.
The series is over. Boston at home have been unbeatable.  Don’t shut off the plane engines Lakers, your stay in Boston will be very short.

49 & Counting

Kobe Bryant scored 49 points against the Nuggets last night and the world is well.

Isn’t this what he’s expected to do? For a gazillion dollars a year he should be scoring the most points of all the players EVERY GAME! In fact, he should be the number one stat every game too. Maybe Bryant scored so many points because the Nuggets sucked.
Like every athlete who gets paid for yesterdays performance, (last years stats) why should we be amazed. They should be paid for each and very performance, not based on the possibility of a good performance. All contracts should include performance based pay, not a guaranteed salary, period. If they stink or perform below expectation, then no pay, how would you like that? I bet Bryant would show up for every game.

Time Out

I’ve been taking a break from all the sports stuff to see what happens with the financial hype around all sports businesses.

There’s a lot of controversy or bitterness between the owners and the athletes over MONEY. What people have to understand is that sports is an industry on its own. That’s right a true blue industry based on business practices. And like ALL businesses, they are in it to make MONEY. So that being said, the athletes need to do what the owners do, make as much money as humanly possible. I don’t blame either parties for the outrageous salaries paid to the athletes, if you can get it, then get it. Who wouldn’t take all the money they could get? You would.

The owners are only interested in one thing, MONEY. So lets stop the nonsense of blaming the owners for the salaries or the high ticket prices. If you don’t want to pay high ticket prices, then don’t buy the tickets or go to the games. For the most part, the tickets sold are usually sponsored by corporations anyways. The simple rules of business are supply and demand. If you don’t buy a product, chances the price will come down or the product will disappear. Will sports disappear, I doubt it.

Again, there is too much MONEY for everyone to make and the owners and athletes know it.

Mitchell Report

So it looks like the hype has slowed down somewhat regarding cheating in Baseball. The Mitchell report, or investigation, did what everyone expected and more, name names. What a huge surprise! And of course, everyone named is denying the report.

What the hell does anyone really care about? These deadbeat idiots are paid to entertain you, that’s it. I expect them to deliver for their pay. I don’t give a flying crap if they use steroids or aspirin to enhance their performance, so what. I do expect them to earn their money, however ridiculous it is. If the sports owners and public are mentally retarded enough to support the athletes behaviour then so be it. It is a sport! A simple diversion for your stupid pointless life. If you don’t like it, don’t watch, read books, go on a vacation, get married or whatever, no one cares about your opinion or pathetic life.

For those who are concerned about their children and the influence this might have on them, get a real life! Your kid doesn’t stand a chance of being a professional athlete anyways. How stunned can you be, are you moronic or what. You live in a world filled with stupid people, get over it!

B B Gets Pooh Poohed

You mean it only took these idiots 4 years to indict Barry! You think the San Francisco Giants knew something was coming by not negotiating a new contract with Bary for the upcoming season? What a joke.

Now we can sit back and hear all the excuses and rambling from Barry and his stupid agent on how Barry never knowingly took any illegal drugs. His Trainer just got released from prison, the prosecutors don’t need him anymore, for failure to speak and divulge any information on BB, don’t want to upset BB, he might throw one of his famous temper tantrums.

Oh yeah, and BB says he doesn’t want to play baseball next year, who the hell wants this cry baby anyways!

Vick Why?

I guess the key question would be why?

With just about anything you could possibly want or need in life, why would a successful athlete throw it all away? Especially on dog fighting. How is this possible. Vick has pleaded not guilty, however, a co-defendant has pleaded guilty. This will leave the prosecution in a very positive position with a convicted co-defendant at their disposal for personal prosecution of Vick. There seems no way out. But prosecutors have been wrong before, right!

Thems Fightin Words

Barry you’ve done it again!

Talk about picking a fight with someone 10 times smaller than you, come on Bonds, is this the best you can do, you steroid freak! Picking on Bob Costas, you gotta be kidding.

What Did Donaghy Do Wrong?

referees02.jpg

So the ongoing saga of the NBA controversy over referee Donaghy continues and will do so for many more months with the fallout recovery over the next few years. But what did Donaghy do wrong?

Let me ask this, what happens when an athlete fakes an injury? Or an athlete doesn’t feel good and holds back his/her performance? Who is to blame? Or better still, who questions his/her motives? This behaviour has been going on for decades and when is this investigated for a persons integrity or morales? Is anyone else being investigated by the NBA or legal beagles? Do athletes bet, of course they do.

Lets face it, Donaghy got caught conducting betting activity, hanging out with the wrong crowd, and that’s the story. Nothing else. You can slice it and dice it any way you want, but that’s the bottom line. Now what does the NBA do, crap all over Donaghy, a defenseless individual who can not possibly defend his actions and will be branded a scapegoat for the NBA.

I’m Back, and so is Hockey

I’m not convinced that Hockey should still be deciding their champion into the month of June. It kinda got lost on me in early May, the wheather starting changing, Baseball was already launched and many Hockey players could be seen golfing. Seems funny to me.

Anyways, I did happen to catch glimpses of the first final series between Ottawa & Anaheim. Both teams have had a big layoff and it showed. Although, tough guys Anaheim, did outplay the Sens, the Ducks showed their physical presence on numerous occassions. Hence, the victory to the Ducks in game one. If anyone cares, the series will continue Wednesday night and probably go 6 or 7 games in total. The marketing folks are trying their best to spin a Canada vs USA in an attempt to create some interest, but the only fans that are truely interested live in the 2 cities.

Waffling Wells

Looks like the porker of Baseball, David Wells, has made a responsible decision to change his lifestyle due to a recent diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. So, who really cares?

He’s on the way out of Baseball, thank God, and he’s a real cry baby. His ERA is 15.0+, through 3 games of Spring Training, so what’s the big deal about him having diabetes? Obviously his game isn’t any better and what now? Will we hear that he’s going to become a Preacher after Baseball? What a joke!
